Privacy Policy for Syn-Waves

This Privacy Policy explains how SYN-FX LP (“SYN-FX,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Syn-Waves mobile application (the “Application” or “Service”).

Syn-Waves is an audio recording and editing application. Most content and information created through the Application is processed and stored locally on your device. Limited information is transmitted to third parties for subscriptions and purchases, or when you choose to contact us, export content, or use an external service.

The Service is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly permit use by or collect personal information from children under 13.

1. Definitions

For this Privacy Policy:

  • Application means Syn-Waves.

  • Company means SYN-FX LP, located at 501 Silverside Road, STE 105-167, Wilmington, DE 19809, United States.

  • Device means an iPhone, iPad, or other compatible device used to access the Service.

  • Personal Data means information relating to an identified or reasonably identifiable person.

  • Service Provider means a third party that processes information for us or helps provide the Service.

  • User Content means recordings, imported audio, projects, notes, exports, and related content created or managed through Syn-Waves.

  • You means the individual using the Service.

For purposes of the GDPR and UK GDPR, SYN-FX LP is the controller of Personal Data processed as described in this Privacy Policy, except where a third party acts as an independent controller.

2. Information We Process

2.1 Audio, projects, and other on-device content

Syn-Waves may process the following content locally on your Device:

  • Audio captured using your microphone.

  • Audio files you choose to import.

  • Audio projects and project organization information.

  • Project names, settings, timelines, edits, and metadata.

  • Project notes.

  • Waveform data, caches, and temporary processing files.

  • Rendered or exported audio files.

  • Application preferences and onboarding progress.

This content is used to provide recording, editing, playback, project management, visualization, recovery, and export functionality.

SYN-FX does not automatically upload your audio, projects, notes, waveform data, or exports to servers operated by SYN-FX or RevenueCat. This content remains on your Device unless:

  • You deliberately export or share it;

  • You save or move it to an external storage provider;

  • You import it from or export it to Apple’s Files app, iCloud Drive, or another file provider;

  • It is included in an Apple-managed Device backup; or

  • You attach or otherwise include it in a support message.

Copies stored with Apple or another provider are governed by that provider’s privacy policy and your account settings.

2.2 Microphone access

Syn-Waves requests microphone permission so that you can record audio and view input levels.

Microphone access occurs only after you grant permission through iOS. You may withdraw permission at any time in your Device settings. Withdrawing permission prevents new microphone recordings but does not automatically delete recordings already stored on your Device.

Microphone audio is processed locally and is not sent to SYN-FX or RevenueCat.

2.3 Subscription and purchase information

Syn-Waves uses Apple’s in-app purchase system and RevenueCat to offer, validate, restore, and manage paid subscriptions and entitlements.

RevenueCat may process:

  • A randomly generated, pseudonymous RevenueCat app-user identifier.

  • Apple receipt information.

  • Purchase history and transaction information.

  • Purchased product and subscription status.

  • Subscription start, renewal, expiration, cancellation, and restoration information.

  • Store, locale, and currency information.

  • Necessary technical information, such as Device type, operating system, Application version, request time, and standard network information.

  • The last time the RevenueCat service was contacted by the Application.

This information is used for:

  • Displaying available subscription products.

  • Processing and restoring purchases.

  • Validating receipts and preventing purchase fraud.

  • Determining whether premium features should be available.

  • Maintaining customer and subscription history.

  • Aggregated subscription reporting, charts, and product analytics.

Syn-Waves uses RevenueCat-generated anonymous identifiers and does not provide RevenueCat with your name, email address, phone number, or a custom account identifier. Syn-Waves does not ask RevenueCat to collect advertising identifiers such as the IDFA.

RevenueCat is not used to analyze how you record, edit, or interact with individual Syn-Waves features. No advertising, attribution, or outbound analytics integrations are enabled.

2.4 Payment information

Purchases are processed by Apple. Your Apple ID, payment card number, bank details, and other billing credentials are handled by Apple and are not provided to or stored by SYN-FX.

SYN-FX and RevenueCat may receive transaction and subscription records, but not your complete payment-card or banking information.

2.5 Support communications

If you contact us for assistance, feedback, bug reporting, feature requests, or another inquiry, we may receive:

  • Your email address and any name associated with your email account.

  • The subject and contents of your message.

  • Files or screenshots you choose to attach.

  • Technical or purchase information you voluntarily include.

Syn-Waves opens a mail composer or an installed email application. No message is sent until you choose to send it. Your email provider and any mail application you select process the message under their own terms and privacy policies.

Please do not include sensitive personal information or content that is unnecessary for resolving your request.

2.6 Information we do not collect

Under the configuration covered by this Privacy Policy, Syn-Waves does not:

  • Require or maintain user accounts.

  • Collect contacts, health information, biometric information, or precise location.

  • Upload audio, projects, or project notes for analytics.

  • Use advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs.

  • Collect the IDFA or use App Tracking Transparency permission.

  • Serve targeted advertising.

  • Track you across applications or websites owned by other companies.

  • Sell Personal Data.

3. How We Use Information

We use information described in this Privacy Policy to:

  • Provide and maintain Syn-Waves.

  • Process, validate, and restore subscriptions.

  • Enable premium features.

  • Prevent fraud and investigate purchase errors.

  • Maintain subscription records and aggregated revenue analytics.

  • Respond to support requests and other communications.

  • Protect the security, integrity, and legal rights of the Service, SYN-FX, and others.

  • Comply with legal, accounting, tax, regulatory, and law-enforcement obligations.

  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We do not use User Content to train artificial intelligence models, profile your interests, or deliver advertising.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: To provide purchased subscriptions, validate entitlements, restore purchases, and respond to requests concerning the Service.

  • Legitimate interests: To operate the Service, prevent fraud, maintain subscription records, understand subscription performance, provide support, secure our systems, and protect our legal rights.

  • Legal obligations: To retain or disclose information when required by applicable tax, accounting, consumer-protection, regulatory, or other laws.

  • Consent: Where applicable law requires consent for a particular activity. You control local microphone access through iOS permissions.

We do not use Personal Data to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

5. How Information Is Disclosed

We may disclose information in the following circumstances.

5.1 Service Providers

We use limited Service Providers to deliver the Service:

  • Apple: Processes App Store purchases, subscriptions, restorations, and payment credentials. Apple may also process files or backups if you use iCloud, iCloud Drive, or another Apple service.

  • RevenueCat: Processes pseudonymous purchase, receipt, subscription, entitlement, and necessary technical information on our behalf.

  • Email providers: Process support correspondence when you choose to contact us.

Service Providers may access only the information necessary to perform their services and process it according to their agreements, privacy policies, and applicable law.

5.2 User-directed sharing

When you export or share audio, a project, or another file, the recipient application, person, storage provider, or sharing service receives the content at your direction. We do not control how that recipient handles it.

5.3 Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with a law, regulation, court order, subpoena, or valid governmental request.

  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of SYN-FX, our users, or the public.

  • Investigate fraud, security incidents, abuse, or unlawful activity.

  • Enforce applicable terms or defend legal claims.

5.4 Business transfers

If SYN-FX is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be disclosed as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections and applicable law.

6. Sale, Sharing, and Tracking

We do not sell Personal Data.

We do not share Personal Data for cross-context behavioral advertising as “sharing” is defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act.

Syn-Waves does not use advertising identifiers, advertising SDKs, data brokers, or third-party advertising integrations. RevenueCat’s processing of purchase history under the configuration described in this Privacy Policy is for Application functionality, fraud prevention, and subscription analytics—not cross-application advertising or tracking.

7. Data Retention

We retain information according to the following criteria:

  • Local User Content: Remains on your Device until you delete the applicable project or file or uninstall the Application. Copies in backups, exported locations, or third-party services may remain according to your settings and the provider’s retention practices.

  • Subscription information: Is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and restore subscriptions, maintain accurate transaction records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. RevenueCat also retains information according to its contractual and legal obligations.

  • Support communications: Are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to and resolve your request, maintain appropriate business records, comply with legal obligations, and protect legal rights.

  • Aggregated information: Information that can no longer reasonably identify or distinguish a user may be retained for reporting, research, and service improvement.

We delete or anonymize Personal Data when it is no longer reasonably necessary for these purposes, subject to applicable legal requirements.

8. Your Choices and Rights

8.1 Local content and permissions

You can:

  • Delete projects and files using available Application and Device controls.

  • Remove Application data by uninstalling Syn-Waves, subject to any retained backups or exported copies.

  • Disable microphone access in iOS settings.

  • Control iCloud and Device backup settings through Apple.

  • Choose whether and where to export or share content.

  • Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account.

Deleting Syn-Waves or its local data does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription.

8.2 Privacy rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to Personal Data we hold about you.

  • Request correction of inaccurate Personal Data.

  • Request deletion of Personal Data.

  • Request restriction of processing.

  • Object to certain processing based on legitimate interests.

  • Receive certain Personal Data in a portable format.

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

  • Lodge a complaint with an applicable data-protection authority.

Syn-Waves does not maintain user accounts, and RevenueCat identifiers are pseudonymous. We may be unable to associate a request with a particular RevenueCat record unless we can reasonably verify the relevant record and your authority to make the request. We will not require you to provide additional identifying information unless reasonably necessary to process or verify your request.

9. International Data Transfers

SYN-FX is based in the United States. RevenueCat and other Service Providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they or their subprocessors operate.

These countries may have privacy laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on recognized legal safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

10. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Personal Data.

Syn-Waves stores local project and note data using protections provided by iOS. Data transmitted to RevenueCat is protected in transit. Access to support correspondence is limited to those who need it to respond or operate our business.

No storage or transmission method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, particularly for content you choose to export, share, or store using a third-party service.

11. Children’s Privacy

Syn-Waves is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13.

If you are under 13, do not use the Service or send information to us. If a parent or guardian believes a child under 13 has used the Service or provided Personal Data, please contact us at privacy@syn-fx.com. We will investigate and take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.

We do not use Personal Data from teenagers for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.

12. California Privacy Notice

This section applies to California residents where the CCPA/CPRA applies.

12.1 Categories of Personal Information

During the preceding 12 months, we may have collected:

  • Identifiers: A pseudonymous RevenueCat app-user identifier and standard network information processed in connection with subscription requests.

  • Commercial information: Purchase history, subscription products, transaction status, renewal, expiration, cancellation, and restoration information.

  • Internet or electronic activity information: Limited technical information required to communicate with RevenueCat, such as Device type, operating system, Application version, and service contact time.

  • Contact and user-provided information: Email address, message contents, and attachments voluntarily provided in support communications.

We collect this information from you, your Device, Apple, and RevenueCat. We use and disclose it for the business purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

We do not collect sensitive Personal Information for purposes that require a right to limit its use under the CCPA/CPRA.

12.2 California rights

Subject to applicable exceptions, California residents may have the right to:

  • Know the categories and specific pieces of Personal Information collected about them.

  • Know the sources, purposes, and categories of third parties involved.

  • Request deletion of Personal Information.

  • Request correction of inaccurate Personal Information.

  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information.

  • Receive equal service and pricing without discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

We do not sell or share Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no sale or sharing from which you need to opt out.

To submit a request, email privacy@syn-fx.com. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authority and appropriate verification.

13. CalOPPA and Do Not Track

The California Online Privacy Protection Act requires applicable online services to describe their privacy practices and their response to Do Not Track signals.

Syn-Waves is a native mobile Application and does not engage in browser-based behavioral tracking. It does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals because those signals do not apply to its native functionality. Where a legally recognized opt-out preference signal applies to a service we operate, we will honor it as required by law.

The categories of information processed, third parties involved, and methods for submitting access or correction requests are described in this Privacy Policy.

14. External Services and Links

The Service may link to websites, email applications, file providers, or other services not operated by SYN-FX.

We are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of those third parties. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any service you choose to use, particularly before uploading, exporting, or sharing User Content.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Syn-Waves, our Service Providers, legal requirements, or our privacy practices.

When we update it, we will revise the “Last updated” date and publish the new version at:

If a change materially affects how we process Personal Data, we will provide additional notice through the Application or another appropriate method where required by law.
